Women in Business submission for Best eCommerce Website Award

WIB currently has 250 women members from a range of business sectors and we are funded by InvestNI due to major role we play in encouraging female entrepreneurship in the Northern Ireland.

As part of a strategic plan for WIB to be self sufficient, WIB must grow to 600 members over the next three years. To do this WIB must be able to demonstrate to both its members and sponsors our position as a dynamic women’s network which is both forward thinking and efficient.

The organisations main constraint to this growth was its inability to raise additional funds for additional personnel. Therefore the growth had to be achieved using productivity gains within the existing business infrastructure. Networking in the Northwest

Our online marketing manager, Ms Dalton, attended the Networking4Business event in the Castlefield Rooms, Manchester yesterday, 3 May. In attendance were many movers and shakers from various industry sectors in Manchester and the Northwest. Networking4Business events give businessmen and women the opportunity to meet others and create reciprocal links. The events don't have any formal structure - it's a chance to get in there, chat to people and learn about the economy in your area.

The event was very well attended and included such reputable businesses as Business for Breakfast, Peter Hattersley and Partners, Norman Fryman Photographers, Simpson Burgess Nash, 360 Spin and newcomers to the graphic design scene, Creative Hero.

The event was sponsored by pro2col, the photographic & digital imaging company, whose first prize in the business card draw was a full promotional banner for the lucky winner's company. It doesn't appear as though luck followed Ms Dalton yesterday, however, as she only came away with business cards and some biscuits for the journey home...
