Women in Business submission for Best eCommerce Website Award

WIB currently has 250 women members from a range of business sectors and we are funded by InvestNI due to major role we play in encouraging female entrepreneurship in the Northern Ireland.

As part of a strategic plan for WIB to be self sufficient, WIB must grow to 600 members over the next three years. To do this WIB must be able to demonstrate to both its members and sponsors our position as a dynamic women’s network which is both forward thinking and efficient.

The organisations main constraint to this growth was its inability to raise additional funds for additional personnel. Therefore the growth had to be achieved using productivity gains within the existing business infrastructure. This has lead to a need for a business process re-engineering project led by the introduction of the website.

The main channel to market for WIB to interact with its members and potential members is via IT based communications. This is the “face” of WIB and critical to the success of the organisation. The website had to promote WIB as a forward thinking, dynamic and approachable business and to portray a strong and clean brand.

Liverpool tennis update

The success of the Liverpool Tennis website has meant that traffic figures have reached such a volume that the web site needs to be hosted on it’s own securely guarded dedicated server.

Next year’s event looks to be bigger and better and we’re already planning major developments and updates to the website. The main addition will be for ticket sales to go straight through the website rather than through ticket management firms who are infamous for taking a healthy cut.

This feature will allow Northern-Vision and Liverpool tennis much more control and management over the allocation of tickets and their pricing.

The event is currently looking to secure more corporate sponsors and partners for the event in 2008 which will prove to be the biggest and best to date, especially as it is the year that Liverpool receives the capital of culture accolade.

Birkenhead Operatic Society Trust takes on a major online production

Dreamscape Solutions has been given the online brief to attract new talent and support for the Birkenhead Operatic Society Trust (BOST).

The Society has entrusted the creative digital media company to design and deliver a new online image for the well-known and loved performing arts group.

Dreamscape Solutions will also be implementing a new in-house ticketing system that will save BOST up to 40% in commissions it currently pays to an out sourced supplier.

The site, which will be launched at the end of August, has focussed on greater user interaction as a key element of the design, giving BOST a powerful tool to build relationships with its audience.

BOST has long been a feature of Liverpool and Merseyside arts scene. Formed in 1926, the Society regularly performs at the Philharmonic Hall, Pacific Road Arts Centre and the Liverpool Empire.

Sylvia Lewis of the BOST comments:
“We want to attract talented enthusiastic amateur performers and a new audience to our work as well as engage with the loyal base of support we already enjoy. The Society felt that our current efforts combined with a new online approach can achieve those objectives.”
Bernard McCabe managing director of Dreamscape Solutions says:
“Working with BOST as Liverpool prepares for the Capital of Culture 2008 is important to me being born and raised in Merseyside.”
McCabe continues:
“Liverpool is growing as a centre for business and with greater recognition of the power of online marketing there are many opportunities in the city. I will be devoting a great deal of my energy into continuing to develop close and long lasting bonds in Liverpool.”
Dreamscape Solutions has recently collaborated with Liverpool International Tennis Tournament and Liverpool University, providing a PDA based technology to improve the treatment of AIDS.
